SYNOPSIS |
| When
his B-24 bomber is shot from the sky over Yugoslavia, a
young American navigator “Rockets” parachutes
into one of the strangest love stories of World War II.
Injured, he is guided to safety by an eccentric female Partisan
“Maruska”. During 40 days and nights, the unlikely
pair suffer the pursuit of Nazi patrols, poisoned water
wells, death-defying diarrhea, near constant inebriation
and repeated deflowering of a questionable virgin who awards
him with love, wisdom and crabs… |

From critically aclaimed book
by Fred Rochlin; "OLD MAN IN A BASEBALL CAP",
DELAWARE PICTURES presents "SILENT WAR"
an amazing tale of deep devotion, bravery and coming of
age described by The New York Times as "Ribald, adult,
morally complex, and occasionally starkly funny, and all
the more stirring for being real."
Initially
optioned by Disney, the book is currently under development
by DELAWARE PICTURES as a major motion picture event under
the screenplay adaptation "THE SILENT WAR".
Director Catherine Pirotta, repped by Barry Hirsch, is attached
